There's something poetic
about scraping bong resin
onto a non-winning lotto ticket,
he thought, but it was the weekend
after a long work week.
Not all thoughts need
symbolic significance—
need to lead to barricades
and molotov cocktails
anymore.
A clean white
bedsheet
doesn’t need
to feel like
a flag of surrender.
